I've got to tell you a story about a phone call I got this last evening.
It was from a guy that bought most of my Boers awhile back and a pyr pup
about 6-7 months old at the time.
He lives near pretty rugged country down by Hell's Canyon area.
Opel is now about 2 years old I guess. Anyway 15 days ago, he lost 60
head of goats and Opel. The male dog had brought home 15 goats, the same
day he heard wolves for the first time, it also had been raining he
said.
All 60 head of goats (Boer's) and Opel were missing for 15 days, He
found them today and got them home, Opel had kept them together and she
didn't lose a single one.
I think, she holed them up during storm as they probably had been
divided by the wolf or wolves or some predator (my thinking) and due to
the fact they were safe, she stayed and cared for them as all good pyrs
would.
Noel said she probably lost about 15 # but was eating good tonight.
